Help Center & FAQ

Everything you need to know about renting a car with Tangier Car Rental. Browse our most frequently asked questions below.

Booking & Requirements

What documents do I need to rent a car?

You will need: 1) A valid driver's license held for at least 1 year. 2) A valid ID card or Passport. 3) A credit card in the main driver's name for the security deposit.

What is the minimum age to rent a car?

The minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21 years old. For certain premium or SUV categories, the minimum age may be 23 or 25 years old.

Do I need a credit card, or can I pay with cash?

You can pay the rental fee in cash (EUR, USD, MAD) or by credit/debit card. However, a valid credit card in the main driver's name is strictly required for the security deposit pre-authorization.

How does the security deposit work?

A pre-authorization is placed on your credit card at pick-up (the funds are blocked, not charged). The amount depends on the car category. The block is automatically released when the vehicle is returned without damage.

Pick-up & Return

Do you deliver to Tangier Airport or the City Port?

Yes, we offer a free "Meet & Greet" delivery service directly at Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport (TNG) and Tangier City Port. Our agent will wait for you at the arrivals exit with a sign featuring your name.

Can you deliver the car to my hotel or Airbnb?

Absolutely. We offer free delivery to any hotel, riad, or address within Tangier city limits. Just provide your location details during the booking process.

What happens if my flight or ferry is delayed?

Don't worry. We monitor flight and ferry statuses using the number you provide during booking. Our agent will wait for you regardless of the delay, at no extra cost.

What is your policy for late returns?

We offer a grace period of 1 hour. If the vehicle is returned more than 1 hour late without prior notice, you may be charged for an additional full day of rental.

Insurance & Emergencies

Is insurance included in the rental price?

Yes, all rentals include basic Third-Party Liability and Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with a deductible. We highly recommend upgrading to our "Full Damage Cost Refundable" plan for zero-deductible peace of mind.

What should I do in case of an accident or breakdown?

First, ensure everyone is safe. Then, contact our 24/7 support line immediately. In case of an accident involving another vehicle, you must wait for the police/constat authorities to draft a formal report. Do not move the car unless causing a severe traffic hazard.

What is NOT covered by the insurance?

Standard and Full insurance do not cover: damage to tires, glass/mirrors, the vehicle's undercarriage, lost keys, or damage caused by driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs or off-roading.

Vehicle Usage & Policies

What is your fuel policy?

We operate on a strict "Same-to-Same" fuel policy. You must return the vehicle with the exact same amount of fuel it had at the time of pick-up to avoid refueling charges.

Is there a daily mileage limit?

No! We offer Unlimited Mileage on all our rentals, so you can explore Morocco freely without worrying about extra distance fees.

Can I take the rental car outside of Morocco?

No, our rental vehicles are strictly for use within the borders of Morocco. Taking the vehicle abroad (e.g., to Spain via ferry) is illegal, strictly prohibited, and voids all insurance.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your reservation for free up to 48 hours before your scheduled pick-up time. For cancellations made within 48 hours, a fee equivalent to one rental day may apply.
