1. General Conditions
Welcome to Tangier Car Rental. By booking a vehicle with us, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding with your reservation.
2. Driver Requirements
To rent a vehicle from Tangier Car Rental, the primary driver and any additional drivers must meet the following criteria:
- Age: Must be at least 21 years old (minimum age may vary by vehicle category).
- Driving License: Must hold a valid, original driving license held for at least 1 year. International renters must provide a valid passport and a physical driving license.
- Identification: A valid ID card or Passport is required at the time of pick-up.
3. Booking, Payment, and Deposit
All rentals are subject to our payment and deposit policies:
- Payment: Full payment for the rental period is required at the time of pick-up or online booking. We accept major credit cards and cash.
- Security Deposit: A pre-authorization on a credit card in the main driver's name is required as a security deposit. The amount depends on the vehicle category and chosen insurance plan.
- Cancellations: Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the pick-up time will be fully refunded. Late cancellations may incur a fee.
4. Insurance and Liability
All our vehicles come with standard insurance coverage. However, the renter remains responsible for certain damages unless an extended insurance plan is purchased:
- Standard Insurance: Covers third-party liability and basic collision with a deductible (excess) amount.
- Full Coverage: Opting for our "Full Damage Cost Refundable" rate reduces the deductible to zero (terms apply).
- Exclusions: Damage to tires, glass, the vehicle's undercarriage, and lost keys are generally not covered unless explicitly stated. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs voids all insurance.
5. Vehicle Use and Restrictions
The rented vehicle must be used responsibly. The following actions are strictly prohibited and will result in penalties and voiding of insurance:
- Driving on unpaved roads or off-roading (unless renting a designated 4x4 vehicle).
- Using the vehicle for commercial transportation, racing, or towing.
- Taking the vehicle outside the borders of Morocco without prior written authorization from Tangier Car Rental.
- Smoking inside the vehicle (a cleaning fee will apply).
6. Pick-up, Return, and Fuel Policy
We strive to make the handover process as smooth as possible:
- Fuel: We operate on a "Same-to-Same" fuel policy. You must return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel it had at pick-up to avoid refueling charges.
- Late Returns: A grace period of 1 hour is typically allowed. Returns later than the agreed time may incur an extra day's charge.
- Condition: The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as rented, ordinary wear and tear excepted.
